Six Of Swords- Learning to Release ‘Defeat’

Two butterflies flit over a steep chasm, long swords forming the bridge that governs their way. Their movement is purposeful, deliberate, intent on moving forward. Even the pine trees beckon them onward, trunks bowing towards a fresher, newer horizon.

The six of swords has a simple message: move on. If you have exhausted the potential of some place or circumstance, It is time to flit away. Don’t hold onto something out of maudlin nostalgia, or worse, fear of change and the unknown. Recognize the simplicity of your venture and float on, towards freedom, towards change, towards adventure. ~The Prisma Visions Tarot.

Just like the eight of cups, the six of swords represents retreat from discord. While the cups deal with the realm of emotion, the swords exemplify the realm of thought.

Even though forging ahead after affliction is the mirroring aim of these cards, the techniques to achieve the end goal are unique. The cups require warm compassion, the swords crave cold intellect.

The only way to move past the aggression of the five of swords into the release of the six... is to identify that which caused the defeat.

The source of agitation must be established. Defense mechanisms and ego must be checked at the door with all other sentimental weaponry. Only the blade of wisdom may guide this task. Only then will the enemy be unmasked. We will then discover the true identity of our villain. Our foe can be either internal or external. But just as our body knows to attack a familiar vir*l particle... our mind will be trained to do the same, we will no longer be host to parasites. The moment we come to know, and eradicate, our adversary we can then release the pain which it has caused. We may then flit away to freedom.
